The 2015 Fairfield County honorees are Ryan Costa of Sandy Hook and Anna Port of Danbury. Both are survivors of Pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Light The Night is a powerful and unique fundraising campaign that brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors as well as those lost to the diseases. During this leisurely walk, participants carry illuminated lanterns - white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones lost to blood cancer.
The Light the Night in Stamford is hosted by the Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Since it began in 1999, the Light The Night Campaign has culminated in nearly 200 Walks across North America has helped LLS invest over $1 billion in research to advance breakthrough cancer treatments that are saving lives today.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. and the walk begins at 7 p.m. The event also includes food, family activities, entertainment, and a fireworks show.
