FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Police Department is aiming to brighten the holidays with a pair of events to benefit Bridgeport Hospital, the Save the Children Foundation and the Newtown Kindness Foundation.

The first event, the department’s annual holiday toy drive, has begun and will last until Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Drop-off locations include Fairfield Police Headquarters, the Fairfield Recreation Center, Fairfield Probate Court, the Fairfield Town Clerk, Fairfield University and the Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The second initiative, a “stuff the cruiser” event, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, from  9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of HobbyTown, 847 Post Road.

In each of the two efforts, police are asking local residents for donations of new, unwrapped toys.

For more information, contact the Fairfield Police Department at 203-254-4800.
