Digging Out: Metro-North Reduces Train Schedule For Friday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Metro-North trains will run on a reduced weekday schedule on Friday, Jan. 5, due to the impact of a strong nor'easter and extremely low temperatures.

Some trains will be combined, and others will be canceled, Metro-North said. 

Metro-North also warned customers to expect delays as cleanup continues from the large snowstorm on Thursday. 

Train riders should check current timetables and note the following trains are canceled and/or combined on the New Haven Line for Friday:

Inbound-AM PEAK:

  • The 7:04 a.m. from New Rochelle is combined with the 6:30 a.m. from Stamford, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 6:49 a.m. from South Norwalk is combined with the 6:32 a.m. from Bridgeport, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 7:29 a.m. from Harrison is combined with the 6:32 a.m. from Bridgeport, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 7:51 a.m. from New Rochelle is combined with the 7:29 a.m. from Greenwich, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 8:17 a.m. from New Rochelle is combined with the 7:40 a.m. from Stamford, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 8:14 a.m. from Mamaroneck is combined with the 6:40 a.m. from New Haven, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 8:34 a.m. from Mamaroneck is combined with the 8:02 a.m. from Stamford, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 8:52 a.m. from Mamaroneck is combined with the 8:29 AM from South Norwalk, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 9:26 a.m. from Mamaroneck is combined with the 8:57 a.m. from Stamford, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 9:53 a.m. from Mamaroneck is combined with the 9:25 a.m. from Stamford, which will make all stops of both trains.
  • The 10:23 a.m. from Mamaroneck is combined with the 10:12 a.m. from Stamford, which will make all stops of both trains.

Outbound-PM PEAK:

  • The 5:21 p.m. train from GCT to New Rochelle is combined with the 5:18 p.m. train to Harrison, which will depart GCT at 5:21 p.m. and will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 5:33 p.m. train from GCT to Harrison is combined with the 5:37 p.m. train to Stamford, which will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 5:34 p.m. train from GCT to South Norwalk is combined with the 5:28 p.m. train to Bridgeport, which will depart GCT at 5:34 p.m. and will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 5:55 p.m. train from GCT to South Norwalk is combined with the 5:46 p.m. train to New Haven, which will depart GCT at 5:55 p.m. and will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 5:57 p.m. train from GCT to Harrison is combined with the 6:02 p.m. train to New Rochelle, which will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 6:20 p.m. train from GCT to Harrison is combined with the 6:19 p.m. train to Stamford, which will depart GCT at 6:20 p.m. and will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 6:35 p.m. train from GCT to South Norwalk is combined with the 6:32 p.m. train to New Haven, which will depart GCT at 6:35 p.m. and will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 6:42 p.m. train from GCT to Harrison is combined with the 6:39 p.m. train to Stamford, which will depart GCT at 6:42 p.m. and will make all of the station stops of the two trains.
  • The 7:09 p.m. train from GCT to Harrison is combined with the 7:04 p.m. train to Stamford, which will depart GCT at 7:09 p.m. and will make all of the station stops of the two trains.

Inbound-PM

  • The 5:15 p.m. train from Harrison to GCT is canceled. Passengers may take the 5:01 p.m. train from Stamford to GCT, which serves the same station stops 9 minutes later.
  • The 6:22 p.m. train from Harrison to GCT is canceled. Passengers may take the 6:06 p.m. train from Stamford to GCT, which serves the same station stops 7 minutes later.
