Marlon Reyes-Delgado, 42, of Bridgeport was sentenced to 10 years in state prison, to 10 years, suspended after he serves five years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, said Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney C. Robert Satti Jr.
Reyes-Delgado, who was sentenced before Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin, said: “I ask for forgiveness for what happened."
A Honduran citizen, Reyes-Delgado will be deported after he completes his prison term, officials said.
The 13-year-old girl told police the assault took place on Dec. 12, 2016, after Reyes-Delgado contacted her through Snapchat inviting her to his apartment. Once there she was sexually assaulted, police said.
