Thousands Without Power Across Fairfield County On Monday Due To Nor'easter

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Thousands of residents across Fairfield County are waking up Monday morning to find they have no power after a nor'easter blew through the area overnight with heavy rain and strong winds.

As of 7:15 a.m. Monday, here are the number of power outages reported in each town by Eversource and United Illuminating : 

  • Bethel: 1,691 customers (20% of town)
  • Bridgeport: 174 customers
  • Brookfield: 321 customers
  • Darien: 1671 customers 
  • Danbury: 1,115 customers
  • Easton: 72 customers 
  • Fairfield: 392 customers
  • Greenwich: 165 customers
  • Monroe: 238 customers
  • New Canaan: 1,208 customers (14% of town) 
  • New Fairfield: 92 customers
  • Newtown: 916 customers (8% of town)
  • Norwalk: 620 customers 
  • Redding: 371 customers 
  • Ridgefield: 3,204 customers (20% of town) 
  • Sherman: 135 customers
  • Shelton: 120 customers, down from 930   
  • Stamford: 208 customers 
  • Stratford: 139 customers 
  • Trumbull: 218 customer 
  • Weston: 118 customers 
  • Westport: 3,232 customers (26% of town)
  • Wilton: 526 customers (7% of town)
It was not clear when the outages would be fully restored.

Large power outages were reported statewide. As of 7:15 a.m. Monday, Eversource reported 155,613 customers without power, and United Illuminating reported 5,684 customers without power.
