NEWTOWN, Conn. — Ryan Fetchick, of Sandy Hook, died at his Sandy Hook home on April 2 due to a tragic accident while working on his truck. He was 19.
Fetchick graduated from Newtown High School in 2016, worked at Route 25 Power Sports and had plans to go to United Technical Institute to become a diesel mechanic.
He was always eager to lend a helping hand — whether it be driving his friends to driver’s education classes, helping a buddy fix their vehicle or cracking everyone up with a well-timed joke.
He was on wheels from a young age. He progressed from rigging up plywood ramps for his bicycle to racing motocross. His ability to take anything apart and put it back together better than the original was unparalleled.
He is survived by his mother, Eileen Fetchick; his father, Drew Fetchick; sister Kristen Fetchick; dog, Moto; and numerous friends and extended family members.
Services were held Sunday at Newtown Congregational Church.
