Bassick HS Student Killed In Drive-By Shooting In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 17-year-old boy was killed Tuesday just before 8:30 p.m. in a drive-by shooting on Madison Avenue and Frank Street, police said in a statement.

The Connecticut Post has reported that the victim, was a Bassick High School student. 

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center by ambulance and was later pronounced dead.

According to police, as the victim was walking to the back of a house near the corner of Madison Avenue and Frank Street, multiple suspects shot hit him. 

Initial reports indicated that more than one shooter fled the scene of the crime, police said.

Police officers and detectives are actively investigating several leads.
