Bridgeport Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Stable Condition

A pedestrian is in stable condition with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Friday in Bridgeport.

The incident took place around 6:27 a.m. Friday, on John Street; just east of its intersection with Park Avenue, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. 

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle which entered John Street from the rear parking lot of the Connecticut Post Newspaper. The vehicle was traveling westbound on John Street when the accident occurred, Jones said. 

The operator remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

The pedestrian was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he’s listed in stable condition.

The Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team has responded to assist the Patrol Division and conduct further investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Department’s Traffic Division (Sgt. Gabe Meszaros) at 203-576-7640.
