Police: Suspect Used Counterfeit $100 Bills At Five Ridgefield Businesses

UPDATED: RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield Police are investigating five separate incidents of someone using counterfeit $100 bills in town last week.

Police said that the counterfeit bills were passed at businesses located on Main Street, Governor Street, Bailey Avenue and Catoonah Street. All the incidents took place on Friday, Jan. 5 between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

In all five incidents, the suspect bought an item valued at $30 or less, and paid using a counterfeit $100 bill, police said.

New Canaan police said the suspect shown in the Ridgefield photo is also a suspect in an incident in New Canaan at about 3 p.m. the same day, Friday, Jan. 5.
