State Police Seeking Info On Fatal Crash Involving Pedestrian

Connecticut State Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to track down a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run on I-91.

Troopers were dispatched to the northbound lanes of I-91 at the exit 13 off-ramp in Wallington at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, where there was a report of a car that had struck a pedestrian.

Police said the vehicle, a Toyota Sienna was traveling north in the center lane near the exit ramp as a pedestrian was attempting to cross all three lanes from the right shoulder to the left median. The pedestrian was struck by the Toyota in the center lane.

The pedestrian, 56-year-old Meriden resident Sharon Ryan, was transported to the Yale-New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was later pronounced dead.
