An investigation led to the arrest of three students in January on charges of selling the sexting content and the referral of 20 students to a juvenile review board, accused of "sharing" the information among friends, reported The News-Times.

The two teens, who turned down the juvenile review board option, were charged with possession of child pornography by a minor, the News-Times said.

Police said several students were "sexting" via smartphone applications such as Snapchat and Kik.

None of the students were identified because they are underage.
