Capitol Riot: MTA Worker, Wife From Massapequa Participated In Jan. 6 Breach, Feds Say
A husband and wife from New York are the latest to be charged in connection with the breach of the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Long Island residents Kevin Moore, age 61, and Carol Moore, age 57, of Massapequa, are named in a four-count criminal complaint that was filed in US District Court in Washington, DC on Monday, May 13.
According to investigators, the couple attended then-President Donald Trump’s speech at the Ellipse that morning before making their way to the Capitol building. Along the way, Carol Moore was seen draped in a blue Trump flag.

Driver Nabbed Months After Hitting, Killing Man In Holbrook, Police Say
A suspect is behind bars months after a hit-and-run crash on Long Island that killed a 63-year-old man.
Michael Sabeno, age 72, of Holbrook, was arrested Thursday, May 16, in connection with the death of Richard Dirocco.
Suffolk County Police said Dirocco was walking in Holbrook, on Coates Avenue near Frank Court, at around 5 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2023, when he was struck by a driver who fled the scene.

Duo Stole Over 100 Tires, Rims From Vehicles Across Suffolk County, DA Says
Two Long Island men are facing dozens of charges after allegedly stealing tires and rims from over 100 vehicles.
Randy Woods, age 37, of Wyandanch and Dwayne Jones, age 45 of Central Islip are named in a 190-count indictment announced by the Suffolk County DA’s office on Wednesday, May 8.
According to investigators, the pair targeted residents, car dealerships, and rental car companies across Suffolk County between July 2022 and October 2023.
In all, they stole tires and rims from 114 vehicles, leaving nearly $500,000 in property damage in their wake, prosecutors allege.

A Queens man who is wanted across the country and the world for jewelry theft has been arrested on Long Island, police announced.
Forty-nine-year-old Yaorong Wan, who lives in Queens, was arrested on Saturday, May 4 for the Manhasset incident, which happened nearly three weeks before, according to Nassau County Police.
Wan, on Friday, April 19, is alleged to have walked into London Jewelers, located at 2046 Northern Boulevard.
