Danbury To Dedicate Memorial Park To Fallen Heroes This Sunday DANBURY, Conn. – The city of Danbury will dedicate the newly built Police and Fire Memorial Park to pay tribute to heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty. The Warrior Award will be presented to U.S. Army Specialist Daniel Hayes Jr., who served in Operation Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement on March 15, 1991.  While maneuvering behind enemy lines, Hayes’s unit faced friendly fire and at the same time learned that there were dismounted enemy infantry all around their position.
