I-684 Gridlock: Multiple Crashes Snarl Morning Commute

Crash Shuts Down Merritt Parkway Stretch
This story has been updated with new incidents. With snow overspreading the area, a crash has caused the closure of a stretch of the Merritt Parkway late Thursday afternoon. The crash, reported around 5:30 p.m., is northbound, closing the lanes between Route 137/High Ridge Road (Exit 35) in Stamford and Route 106/Exit 36 in New Canaan. Two Lanes On I-684 Reopen
This story has been updated. Two lanes on southbound I-684 have reopened after a crash toward the tail end of the Wednesday morning commute. The I-684 southbound incident occurred at the Saw Mill Parkway junction (Exit 5) in Katonah at about 8:30 a.m. An earlier crash led to the closure of the northbound lanes of the Taconic Parkway at Exit 23 (Bryant Pond Road) in Putnam Valley. Gridlock Alert: Crash Takes Out Lane On Merritt
This story has been updated. There was gridlock on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway late Saturday afternoon after a crash blocked the left lane. The northbound incident occurred between Exit 27 (King Street/Route 120A) near the Westchester border and Round Hill Road (Exit 28) in Greenwich. New Round Of I-684 Lane Closures Scheduled
There will be multiple lanes closed temporarily over the weekend on I-684 as contracting crews continue construction work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, there will be double lane closures northbound on the interstate between exit 8 (Hardscrabble Road) and exit 9 (I-84) in Westchester and Putnam counties. Motorists can expect delays, the NYSDOT warned. Drivers have been advised to seek alternate routes, when available, and to follow the directions of traffic control devices and flaggers in the area.

More lane closures have been announced on the Hutchinson River Parkway. Motorists have been advised that beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, the Hutchinson River Parkway will be closed between exit 6 (I-95) and Exit 15 (Cross County Parkway).
