I-684 Reopens After Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into I-84 Overpass Exit Ramp
This story has been updated. A stretch of I-684 has reopened after a tractor-trailer hauling an oversized modular home crashed into the Interstate 84 overpass exit ramp in Putnam County on Monday. The I-84 Exit 20 ramp has also reopened. The incident at Exit 20 in Southeast occurred around 11:15 a.m. Jan. 7, causing the closure of northbound I-684 at Exit 9W. A busy intersection off the Hutchinson River Parkway is going to be busier this weekend as contracting crews continue construction work as part of the ongoing bridge replacement project in Westchester. The New York State Department of Transportation advised police in Mount Vernon that they will be closing East Third Street beginning on the morning of Friday, Nov. 30 from Warwick Avenue to the Hutchinson River Parkway.
