Bridgeport Group Plans March To Heal, Inspire Change After Police Shootings BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport organization is planning to hold a march Sunday to inspire positive change and to help the community heal after the deaths of two black men who were shot by police officers in separate incidents in Louisiana and Minnesota. Alton Sterling was fatally shot in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, and Philando Castile was killed in St. Paul on Wednesday. Both were shot multiple times. Westport Police: Man Charged With Assault On Woman Found With Crack, Heroin WESTPORT, Conn. — A 37-year-old Stratford man was found with drugs when police responded to an assault at Westport residence early Tuesday morning, police said. Westport Officers responded to a Saugatuck Avenue residence on a report of a disturbance in progress. When officers arrived, they located Luis Ortiz, 37, exiting the residence, police said. Police determined that an argument between Ortiz and an unidentified victim escalated into a physical altercation. Westport Police Charge Wallingford Man, 55, With Panhandling Near I-95 Ramp WESTPORT, Conn. — A 55-year-old Wallingford man was charged with panhandling in the area of an I-95 ramp in Westport Wednesday after ignoring several warnings from officers not to panhandle there, police said. While on patrol, a Westport police officer observed Jonathan Green, panhandling in the area of the exit 17 ramp, police said. Suspected Heroin Dealer Busted In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. — A 26-year-old man was charged with dealing heroin following a lengthy undercover investigation by the Norwalk and Darien police departments that culminated in his arrest Thursday afternoon, police said.
