Westport Fire & EMS Check Out New Equipment In Training Drill WESTPORT, Conn. — Motorists passing by Westport Fire Headquarters Wednesday morning may have done a double take or two, as emergency workers tried to rescue a “person” trapped under a car. What they were actually watching, though, was Westport firefighters and EMS personnel training on some new rescue equipment. Fairfield Police: Text Of 'Armed Robbery' Greatly Exaggerated FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police officers who rushed to a report of an armed robbery at Village Bagels Tuesday found they were part of a big misunderstanding. A 22-year-old was waiting for his order inside the Post Road eatery just before 1:30 p.m. when his 21-year-old friend waiting in a car outside texted him to find out why it was taking so long, police said. Shelton Students Act Kindly, Dunk Principal To Raise Funds For Playground SHELTON, Conn. — Families at Sunnyside Elementary School are well on their way to funding a new playground, thanks to generous donations — and a principal willing to get into a dunking booth for a good cause. Fairfield Police: Driver Admits 'Drinking Too Much' After Making Tracks FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A 21-year-old Fairfield driver may face charges after he careened around a residential street late Saturday believing he was outside his home miles away, police said. Fairfield Police: Wrong-Way Cyclist Hits Car, Flips Over Hood FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield cyclist was sent to the hospital Sunday afternoon after he ran into a car at an intersection and flipped over the hood, police said.
